Hi, I’m Deanna and as a local San Francisco teenager I wanted to share my top picks for things to do that are teen-tested and teen-approved. Here are some of my recommendations for some easy and unforgettable adventures right here in SF.
If you're looking for a place to chill, shop, and grab a bite with friends, Stonestown Mall is a spot. It's got all your favorite stores, from H&M to Sephora, and a great food court where you can grab everything from Panda Express to Auntie Anne's pretzels. Not to mention, there's a Target there where you can find pretty much anything you need as well as a new movie theater! (link)
For some real brain-busting fun, gather your crew and try out one of the many escape rooms around the city. My favorites include the Escapology (back at Stonestown Mall). It's an amazing way to work together, solve puzzles, and feel the thrill of beating the clock. (link)
Trust me, the Exploratorium is not your typical museum. Located at Pier 15, this place is packed with hands-on exhibits that make learning ridiculously fun. Whether it's playing with light and sound or seeing how your body works, there's something cool at every corner. Plus, it’s right on the waterfront, so you get killer views of the Bay Bridge and the city skyline. While tickets can be pricey they offer a number of discounts, so do your research. (link)
In Golden Gate Park, you’ll find the California Academy of Sciences – another super cool spot in the city. There's a rainforest dome you can walk through, a planetarium that feels like you're flying through space, and even a living roof with local plants. Don’t miss the penguins and the very famous albino alligator Claude, in the aquarium! (link)
Just down at Pier 39, the Aquarium of the Bay is perfect for a day out while pretending to be a tourist. You can walk through clear tunnels with fish swimming all around you, check out jellyfish, and even touch bat rays and starfish in their touch pools. It's right next to a bunch of other fun Pier 39 attractions like street performers, shops, and the famous sea lions. (link)
San Francisco is truly a playground for teenagers, offering a variety of exciting activities that cater to all interests and passions. Whether you're a local teen or visiting the city, there's always something new and thrilling to discover, from the hands-on exhibits at the Exploratorium to the amazing marine life at the Aquarium of the Bay.
